Massachusets General is the third oldest general hospital in the United States and ranked in third place by U.S. News and World Report for the sixteenth year as one of the nations best. Located on a tight urban site campus, surrounded by neighborhoods and the Charles River, the project brings a much needed expanded service to Massachusets General. Its working name is the “Building for the Third Century” as it is expected to be completed in the hospital’s 200th year of providing care. It is a building for 100 years, designed to be high tech allowing for flexibility of the future.
