This over 30 year old 130,000 square-foot factory “The Brandix Eco Centre”, underwent a 7 month conversion, achieving a score of 76 of the total 85-point LEED certification system, 12 points higher than the 64 required for basic Platinum status. During this construction period, the old factory had to continue functioning at 50% capacity despite the building work underway.

Located in Seeduwa, north of Colombo in Sri Lanka, the complete conversion supports initiatives for supply chains to achieve carbon neutrality, and reduces the facility's carbon footprint by as much as 64%, achieving a 46% saving in energy a 63% cut in water consumption and zero solid waste to landfill. The new, sophisticated air-conditioning systems and ducting have greatly increased efficiency with special prismatic material in skylights letting in solar light but not solar heat.

The completed project won the following awards:
The National Energy Efficiency Award in Large Scale Manufacturing category at the first ever Sri Lanka National Energy Efficiency Awards 2010.
Gold award at the National Cleaner Products Awards 2008.
National Winner for Sri Lankan at the Energy Globe Awards 2008 in the Air Category held at Prague by the Energy Globe Foundation.
